It was just over a decade ago that New Zealand songstress Brooke Fraser released her debut album What to Do with Daylight, and from that moment on the world knew that it was in for something special. Reaching Number. 1 on the New Zealand charts and going seven times platinum, this was only the beginning for Fraser – who relocated to Los Angeles for her third album Flags in 2010. Opening track and single ‘Something in the Water’ catapulted her into international chart success once again, proving to be yet another pivotal career moment.
With Fraser set to release her fourth album later this year, we’re proud to give you a glimpse by premiering her new track ‘Psychosocial’ – which sees Fraser wail over dramatic percussion, murky interludes and an uplifting choral hook. It all seems a bit larger than life, and definitely heralds a huge sound for her incoming album. David Kosten (Bat For Lashes, Everything Everything) is producing the record – which only confirms our inklings. Have a listen below, and keep an ear out for Fraser to return in full force later this year:
