How Emma Watson write history at the UN

How Emma Watson wrote history at the UN

Don’t waste the next 14 minutes, watch this.

Earlier this week Emma Watson visited the UN Headquarters to deliver one of the most eloquent speeches on gender equality we’ve heard in a while.

Launching the HeforShe equal rights campaign, Emma brought truthfulness and strength to what can be a feisty discourse, speaking of gender equality as an issue not solely reserved for Feminist’s, but everyday males and females alike:

“Fighting for women’s rights has too often become synonymous with man-hating…this has to stop.” “Gender equality effects men too…when they are free things will change for women as a natural consequence.” “This seems uncomplicated to me.”

Why we love it:

1. It brings powerful femininity to feminism.

2. It values men in a sphere they can feel ridiculed by.

3. It reminds our generation we are a viable voice for change.
